New guide helps faculty and staff reach out to distressed students

The challenges of university life help students develop as scholars, grow as individuals, and find new direction for their lives. Yet those same experiences can be the source of stress, anxiety and depression. Faculty and staff members can play a key role in guiding troubled students to the resources they need to succeed.

SMU’s Office of Student Life has created A Guide for Faculty and Staff Members for Recognizing and Responding to Students in Distress, containing a brief overview of what to look for, whom to contact, and how to intervene if necessary. Pick up printed copies from Student Life, or download the PDF version.
