Power up – The SMU Wellpower program for 2007-08 begins Aug. 27. Most fitness classes begin Sept. 4; try any Group X class free during August and pay only $35 each for the rest of the term ($50 each for spinning classes, $70 for a Group X semester pass). Log in to the Wellpower links with your 8-digit SMU ID.

How to Be GoodWhat would you do? – The 2007 Common Reading Experience continues with a panel discussion of Nick Hornby’s How to Be Good featuring faculty and community members, at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 30 in the Hughes-Trigg Student Center Theater.

Risky business – Mark your post-Labor Day calendar for the 2007 Risk Assist Fair from 9-11:30 a.m. Sept. 4 in the lower level of the Hughes-Trigg Student Center. The Office of Risk Management offers presentations on everything from emergency notification procedures to safe lifting and moving techniques for the office. Refreshments will be served, and prizes will be offered. Register online.

Senate in session – The first meeting of the 2007-08 Faculty Senate will begin at 3:10 p.m. Sept. 5 in the Hughes-Trigg Ballroom West.
