As of October 2008, we have added greatly expanded access to SocINDEX.
Expanding on our previous access to SocINDEX, we now have SocINDEX with Full Text, which offers full text for 708 journals dating back to 1908. This database also includes more than 780 books and monographs in full text, and over 9,333 conference papers. In addition to the full-text content, the database contains informative abstracts for more than 1,130 “core” coverage journals dating as far back as 1895, more than 430 “priority” coverage journals, and an additional 2,800 “selective” coverage journals.
SocINDEX is comprehensive research tool of very high quality. Its extensive scope and content provide users with a wealth of information encompassing the broad spectrum of sociological study. SocINDEX offers comprehensive coverage of sociology and encompasses many sub-disciplines and closely related areas of study. Some of these areas include criminology & criminal justice, demography, ethnic & racial studies, gender studies, religion, social psychology, social work, socio-cultural anthropology, substance abuse & other addictions, and violence.
SocINDEX also features over 25,000 Author Profiles covering the most prolific, most cited, and most frequently searched authors in the database. Profiles include biographical and bibliographic information that enables users to ascertain an author’s areas of expertise and academic/professional focus quickly. All profiles are updated on a routine basis as new information about each author becomes available. New profiles continue to be added for additional authors.
