Check out the Dart System!

Note: Emily ran into some technical difficulties in getting her blog posted.

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to tell you about my public transportation adventure that I took last week. As someone who has lived, gone to high school, and gone to college in the same 3-mile by 3-mile radius my whole life, I really have never considered public transportation. Although I spend a lot of times in the Park Cities, I love to go fun places with my friends all over Dallas and realized that public transportation, such as the Dart Rail or Dart Bus are great ways to travel with a group of friends or by yourself, while preserving the environment by skipping the car ride. Last Wednesday me and my friend Bailey decided we wanted to go to the Dallas World Aquarium in downtown Dallas. Because parking and traffic is usually not ideal in downtown, we thought it would be a great time to use the Dart Rail system. Knowing basically nothing about how the system worked, I got online and googled ???Dallas Dart???. From there I was able to type in our destination, and I was given an itinerary of the tip. We were to get on the Blue line at Mockingbird Station, make one transfer at the West End Station, arrive Griffin and walk just a short distance to the aquarium. After 25 minutes of fun on the Dart, me and Bailey felt as if we could go anywhere in Dallas at anytime, conserve energy, and pay less riding the Dart than what it would have cost to park our car. We had a great time at the aquarium, and were able to see everything we wanted before hopping on the rail and heading back home. I would recommend riding the Dart to anyone and everyone. It costs 5 dollars for a day pass (Park N??? Pony), and you can travel anywhere from Mockingbird Station to Uptown or Downtown, or even the Dallas Zoo. Go online and plan your perfect afternoon and weekend adventure and have a great time. Trust me, you will have so much fun, there is room to go with many of your friends, and not to mention you will be conserving energy and reducing emissions by going public on the Dart! Think green, skip the car, hop on the Dart, and have fun!

P.S. Keep an eye out for my adventure pictures that will be developed and uploaded very soon!
