Vladimir Ajaev, SMU professor of mathematics and his collaborators published a paper in Physical Review Letters, one of the top scientific journals in both physics and applied mathematics. The model developed by professor Ajaev resolved a long-standing controversy about the mechanism of levitation of microdroplets supported by an upward flow of vapor. The work generated significant publicity, including news articles in Physics World and on the site of Novosibirsk State University, as well as a discussion in a popular fluid mechanics blog. READ MORE
