The Origins of Archaic State Society in Ancient Hawaii

Dr. Mark D. McCoy is a landscape archaeologist whose research is aimed at bringing together multiple lines of evidence to understand the emergence of social complexity. In his career, he has published 22 peer-reviewed journal articles dealing with a broad range of topics from the dynamic relationship between people and the natural environment to the ways social inequality became institutionalized in the past.
