None of the students who work here know how to help you at all – can’t even find a book. Their training is terrible. The staff at the reference desk should be helpful. There needs to be scissors, tape, etc. Staples need to be refilled and restocked.

First, student assistants are trained to do their jobs. Many of our student workers are new to working in the library at the start of the school year, and it takes them time to learn their jobs. If you are not getting a satisfactory response from a student assistant, please ask a librarian for assistance. Second, we’re sorry you don’t find the student assistants or reference librarians helpful. You can reach a librarian in a variety of ways at Ask a Librarian. Third, supplies such as staples, tape, scrap paper, and a hole punch are placed on the table next to the Tech Help Desk in the Information Commons. Please let a student assistant or librarian know if supplies are running low so we can replace them.
