The Friends of the SMU Libraries are pleased to announce the following 2015 grant recipients:
$20,000 to the Fondren Library Center renovation project.
$6,100 to the DeGolyer Library Prints & Photography Department to purchase Civil War photographs.
$5,000 to the SMU Archives to continue digitizing the Daily Campus student newspaper.
$2,500 to the Hamon Arts Library to seed an initiative to enhance newly renovated spaces with original works of art.
$1,257.84 to the Business Library for portable mini-projectors.
$1,200 to the DeGolyer Library to add to the Colophon Collection of modern American literature.
$1,093 to the Hamon Arts Library to fund a short-term consultant for the Voices of Change Archive.
Amount of grants: $37,150.84
Grants approved for yearly distribution:
$3,000 to CUL to assist in funding the production of the CUL annual report publication.
$2,000 to support the Library School Scholarship Award. This year’s scholarship recipients are Jesse Hunt and Elisa Welder.
$500 to the SMU Libraries to support the Effective Use of Information Technology Staff Award.
$500 to the SMU Libraries to support the Continuing Excellence Staff Award.
TOTAL of all 2015 grants: $43,150.84
The Friends of the SMU Libraries provide support for all eight SMU libraries.
