Become smarter about the history of your University just by liking the “Southern Methodist University Archives” on Facebook.

The Southern Methodist University Archives serves as the collective memory of Southern Methodist University and will be posting fun facts about the history of our school throughout the year on Facebook. There will be no tests, no grades, no papers. Impress your friends (and parents) by learning about the history and traditions of SMU the easy way, the Facebook way.

Nerd notes: The SMU Archives is located in the DeGolyer Library. Students may use the SMU Archives to do actual research about the University from 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Students must show their student i.d. cards. Materials will be brought to you after a research consultation with an archivist. Students will be doing primary research. We welcome student usage. It’s best to schedule appointments because there are approximately 11,000 undergraduate and graduate students and 1 university archivist. Learning may occur without your knowledge.
