Clements Center Brown Bag lecture
12:00 p.m. Texana Room – DeGolyer Library

Weber recently completed work on a book to be called “Fiasco: George Clinton Gardner’s Correspondence from the U.S.-Mexico Boundary Survey, 1849-1854.” The book contains 175 letters that he and his co-editor, Jane Lenz Elder, have introduced and annotated. His talk will explain the significance of Gardner’s correspondence and explain why editing is a risky business for historians in the academy.
