This event will feature the writings of Louisa Catherine Adams, as published in A Traveled First Lady.
Jim Taylor, the book’s co-editor, will discuss Louisa Catherine Adams’ historical importance as a daughter-in-law to John Adams, wife and First Lady to John Quincy Adams, and significant figure in Washington D.C. for more than three decades.
Jim Taylor is the editor in chief for the Massachusetts Historical Society’s “Adams Family Papers,” a historical archive of documents from three generations of the Adams family. The collection spans from 1639 to 1889 and contains nearly 300,000 manuscript pages.
