heart-walk-dallas-2013Student, faculty, staff and alumni teams from SMU will take part in the 20th annual Heart Walk Sept. 13 to raise awareness about heart health and wellness.

The Dallas division of the American Heart Association hosts the largest Heart Walk in the nation, having grown from 450 participants when it was started by fitness guru Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper to more than 60,000 walkers last year. This year the event is co-chaired by SMU Alumni, Hunter Hunt ’90 and Chris Kleinert ’88.

The event will begin at 9 a.m. at the base of Reunion Tower (300 Reunion Boulevard East) with the Mustang Band leading the walk. The Dallas Heart Walk requires registration but is free and open to the public.
