Peruna Paint Project at DISD’s Conrad High School

The Peruna Paint Project recently visited DISD’s Emmett J. Conrad High School, where SMU students and alumnae painted the University logo and mascot on a school wall to help call attention to the importance of higher education.

Two of the teachers taking part in the project are SMU alumnae — Lindsay Clark (’08, ’12) and Becky Brown (’85) — as well as current SMU students Hunter Sutton, Chandler Helms, and Alex Cain. Also participating in the project were Kristal Statler, Director for Fraternity and Sorority Life at SMU; Vallarie Luna, Community Liaison at Conrad; and David Hamilton, Conrad High’s principal.

Conrad High, located in Dallas’s Lake Highlands neighborhood, has four National Academies Foundation certified academies: Academy of Hospitality and Tourism, Academy of Finance, Academy of Engineering and the Academy of Information Technology.
