Jordan Ackerman | The Sustainable Hope Project

My name is Jordan Ackerman and I am majoring in Environmental Studies and minoring in Communication Studies here at SMU. I hope to use my education to work for an organization that ministers to the underprivileged and develops sustainable communities in third world countries. My desire to improve the lives of the underprivileged and the motivation behind my Caswell Project comes from the love that God displays through Jesus Christ. While I may not be able to solve all world’s problems, I strive to use the life, talents, and resources God has given me to love and serve others.
Zahra Khan | Think Out Loud: A Common Reading Initiative
My double major in Marketing and English has led me down a road of discovery. Seeing the world through the eyes of those who buy and those who sell, I have realized that my generation is misunderstood. While our material desires are being catered to, our intellectual hunger is not. Facebook and Twitter fill the social gap, but they fail to provide for our pursuit of knowledge. By creating a virtual space that encourages students and professors to foster their ideas, I hope to help my generation develop into the leaders they are. I have always believed that every voice should be heard, and I am excited to now be able to share that belief with others.
