Centennial Cornerstone

Did you know that when the cornerstone for Dallas Hall was dedicated in 1912, sealed inside were copies of the campus student newspaper, a Bible and a picture of the Commission of Education that selected Dallas as the location of SMU? SMU continued that tradition at the Founders’ Day dedication of the Centennial Cornerstone for the new Residential Commons Complex by soliciting notes of encouragement to the centennial classes from alumni and parents. These notes will be opened at SMU’s sesquicentennial in 2065. Email smu100@smu.edu to request a message card.
