– SMU President R. Gerald Turner
The Second Century Campaign has met two of its three stated goals far ahead of schedule. Thus far, more than $xxx million in total commitments have been received, topping our original goal of $750 million. In addition, more than 50 percent of SMU alumni have made one or more gifts during the campaign. We are close to approaching a 25 percent rate of annual giving by alumni; a record 24 percent of SMU alumni provided gifts in the fiscal year that ended May 31.
With two years remaining in the Campaign, we are charging ahead with enthusiasm and dedicated more than ever to harnessing the momentum SMU continues to generate. View a timeline of campaign progress, and explore the ways The Second Century Campaign is impacting every area of SMU while also expanding our global reach and influence.
“There is too much progress and too much opportunity to rest on our laurels at this critical point in SMU’s future.”
– Caren H. Prothro, Chair, SMU Board of Trustees
Nothing could be more important than continuing to support SMU at this point in our history. As we turn our attention to the remainder of the Campaign, the time has come to ask important questions: What remains to be done? What further opportunities exist? What does our success now enable?
With your continued support, the University will continue to strengthen its student quality, faculty excellence, academic distinction and the campus experience. Learn more about the centennial decade priorities for academic and campus programs.
