Not that you need to read this ... but, please read!

As our inaugural post, we wanted to share an article that we ran across by Rebecca Lieb. Though we have excellent clients already, "How to Be a Good Client" is a great refresher about how to work with us.

For example, here is one of our favorite suggestions from Lieb:

Create a communications map. Who are the go-to people, on your side and your agency's? Distribute a detailed list to both sides' players, from C-level to mail room. Contact information is a must, preferred contact methods and times of day are a big help.

Too often, projects stall because a decision maker hasn't been identified. Creating a contact map for each project allows us to send your project to the appropriate people for approvals. As a result, your project moves through without delay!

What We've Been Up To: SMU AWARE Campaign

For the 2008/2009 school year, Marketing partnered with the Office of Risk Management to let the SMU community "Know What To Do" in case of an emergency on campus. Here is a summary of what we did:

October 1: The SMU AWARE promotions team demonstrated the four steps required by students, faculty and staff during an evacuation with a comedic skit.

November 15: Students, faculty and staff played interactive games that educated participants on the steps to take in the event of an active shooter, or other violence, on campus.

April 8: This time around, the event featured putt-putt in Hughes-Trigg and basketball games in Umphrey-Lee to help teach the SMU community what to do in the event that there is a danger outside or a warning siren has been sounded.

Here is a video that features highlights from this year's campaign:

As a result, this dynamic campaign was featured in the following outlets:
